Based on the dynamic mathematical model of pipe network, taking a district cooling project of a building complex as an example, a quantitative analysis on the annual hourly operating energy consumption of the primary water pumping distribution system for the district cooling is carried out under two different control schemes of the constant pressure difference at the beginning and at the end. The results show that, compared with the constant pressure difference at the beginning, the annual operating power consumption of the constant pressure difference at the end is lower by 29.7%. For the project, the constant pressure difference at the end has the advantages of high load regulation accuracy and low operating energy consumption, so it is recommended.
